Slow and Steady

Amazing team. Huge congratulations to our new ELITE Champion team, Beppo and Laura!

This team is special because the little guy is about as far from a world-champion speed-race nosework dog as you can get. He strolls rather than sprints, explores rather than executes with precision, and takes his time approaching every find. He's like a little Buddha on a walking meditation—the ultimate "be here now" kind of guy.

While that approach might be something we humans aspire to, it can present some unique challenges for a nosework teammate during a search. Many handlers might have thrown in the towel, but Laura hung in there with the little guy. She embraced his strengths, took the ride with him (a slow and steady one), and loved him every step of the way.

So paws up to a team that truly embodies the heart and soul of this sport. Congratulations, Beppo and Laura!
