Caeli and Finley
Finley and I started working with Laura and Mary in early 2023. We had never done any type of dog sport previously - agility and sheep herding were not Finley's thing. The way Laura introduced nosework, with an easy, rewarding process was very successful for us. It started out as a big game hunting for treats, and we moved from there to having him search for particular odors and getting highly reinforced when he was successful. Finley now loves the game and can't wait to get his turn at searching. The teaching environment is super positive. Students support each other and check on how we're doing. Laura's our number one cheerleader. We're doing some competitions now, and she always checks on how it went, and gives suggestions to make being at a trial easier. Finley and I love this work - Laura has taught us so much, and all the while made it super fun. I highly recommend it to strengthen your relationship with your dog.

Canine Nose Work classes with Laura and Mary are an excellent way to engage with your dog. I enjoyed teaching my dog a new skill and giving him a fun mental workout in a positive environment. The instructors did a great job of being sensitive to all the participant's special needs and keeping the class safe and fun for everyone. This class is great way to 'exercise' your dog without the physical or mental stress of taking them to a dog park. It allows them to use their very strong natural instinct of smelling things and searching for them, in a constructive way. I recommend this class for anyone looking for a new way to engage with and train their dog.

We started nosework classes with Laura and Mary last year not knowing anything about the sport. After the first few classes, our dog Maui was obviously hooked and she couldn't wait to get started when she would come to class. It was such a different mental exertion that she was not used to but benefited from immensely. It was so helpful to start with the introduction to odor classes to get a strong foundation in the concepts and slowly build our way up to nosework 1 classes. I found that Maui and I strengthened our relationship s I was more attuned to her body signals from practicing observing her in class with the wonderful instructors Laura and Mary and friendly dog owners and dogs. Also, it was always something fun to look forward to on Saturdays and they always made the class unique, stimulating and enjoyable. Thank you Seaside Sniffers! We just joined the NACSW and hope to get Maui ORT certified in December!

Scentwork classes with Laura and Mary are fun and informative. The classes are supportive and there's a great sense of camaraderie. My dog, Lily, was having a lot of general anxiety and the classes have really built her confidence. She loves attending and can't wait to start when we get there. I feel that the classes have created a solid scentwork foundation for Lily and I, and we're looking forward to continuing to advance and build on that foundation. I definitely would recommend taking classes with Seaside Sniffers.

My dog loved Nose Work. It was his favorite activity. He was 11.5 years old, but acted like a 2 year old when he was honing in on the scent. Laura’s classes taught both handler & dogs so much, allowing us to advance our skills & increasing challenges to our dogs while keeping the activity fun for both. Laura creates an environment of self-discovery and individuality for dogs and humans. She incorporates container, interior and exterior searches and she is always cognizant of all the dogs’ safety.

If you are either just getting into Nosework, or are a team trying to move on in the sport I cannot recommend Laura Camodeca enough. She provides good solid instruction that is directed at your dog and your needs. Her classes are very positive and supportive, and the atmosphere is relaxed. She works with you to meet your specific needs, and that is so helpful. You can't go wrong with Laura.

Nosework with Seaside Sniffers is a joy for both my dog and me. I looked for a Nosework class for a long time & was delighted to finally find Seaside Sniffers offering a basic class. From the first session, Breeze and I felt comfortable with the environment and with the steady growth of our skills and knowledge. It is so much fun to watch the progress of each team as both dog and handler grow in confidence. I am always impressed by Laura’s ability to find new challenges every class and to make adjustments so each team finds success. I highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to do more with their dog.

As someone with zero prior scentwork experience (I didn’t even know it was a thing), I enrolled my two 18 month old agility dogs in a fall Intro to Nosework class with Laura just for fun. I learned it was offered as part of the versatility award at my breed nationals and I had the idea that it might be something to keep my high drive pups’ engaged when it was too wet or cold to train outside. Laura is an excellent teacher and enthusiastically supports every dog and every student regardless of aptitude or experience. I found her classes really prepared me and my dogs to compete effectively in all four elements of AKC scentwork. One of my dogs recently completed his AKC Advanced Scentwork Title. The real reward of course is the great teamwork you create having fun with your dog. I can’t recommend anyone more highly than Laura Camodeca if you have interest, or are even just curious, about scentwork with your dog.

The whole family practiced with Indy this morning, and it was so much fun. She is getting so good at the command "find it." Her powerful "sniffer", as Olivia calls it, delights the kids, with eruptions of giggles when the dog does what of course dogs do best. We all are amazed. This is such a great activity for families.
